Our Beliefs

What We Believe at KMBC
If you are looking for a new church, just beginning your walk with Christ, or just checking the whole thing out, then you’ve come to the right place. Below is a presentation of our beliefs in a concise, readable manner. We hope that when you finish reading this, you will understand a bit more about Kings Mountain Baptist Church (KMBC). If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. We want to hear from you!

God’s Word is True
KMBC believes the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is 100% accurate and true from beginning to end, and God has provided it for us to learn about Him and increase our faith as He guides and directs our lives.

We believe that there is one eternal God, who exists in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and we can know each person of the Trinity in a personal way.

Jesus is the Son of God
We believe that God created us to have fellowship with Him, but that the human race is separated from God because of our sins. God loves us so much that He provided the only way for man to be reconciled to Him. As was prophesied throughout the Old Testament of the Bible, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to earth to redeem us.

Jesus was born to a virgin, He lived a sinless life, performed many miracles, and demonstrated His love for us as He laid down His life on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. He died and was buried. On the third day, He was raised to life and appeared to over 500 people during a period of 40 days before ascending to Heaven. We believe He will come again to earth in power and glory.

Believe, Repent, and be Baptized
Jesus declared that no one comes to the Father except through Him. We believe that repentance from sin and belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the only way to salvation – to be saved from eternal judgment for our sin. He also promised to send His Holy Spirit to live in the hearts of believers. We believe the Holy Spirit teaches us, guides us, and provides us with His power to use the gifts we have been given to help and encourage others.

KMBC also believes in demonstrating our faith in Christ through two ordinances; the practice of baptism through total immersion in water and The Lord’s Supper whereby members memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming.
